Our program for homeowner insurance coverage has been tiered to allow the offering of coverages at rates commensurate with loss exposures and special handling associated with a given applicant. A total of five (5) rating and underwriting tiers are offered. All have the same basic insuring agreement with variations in eligibility, coverage forms and prices.
Fundamental eligibility requirements include:
- the owner-occupant of a dwelling used only for private residential purposes;
- a tenant (non-owner) of a dwelling or apartment if the residence occupied by the insured is used for residential purposes;
- one of the co-owners provided each occupies separate apartments within the dwelling. A tenant policy may be issued to the other co-owner;
- modular homes installed on permanent foundations.
A policy may only be issued where the main residence insured:
- is used exclusively for residential purposes (except for certain incidental occupancies); and
- the residence contains no more than two families with no more than two roomers or boarders per family; and
- has the same location as the mailing address of the insured. Applicants who choose not to receive their mail at the premises/described location to be insured are not eligible for this program. If the United States Postal Service does not provide street delivery of mail to the insured premises/described location, a PO Box in the same municipality and zip code may be considered.
